Key Qualifications

Mr. Wichai Laksanakorn’s experience started in the late sixties when the era of high-rise building is at the beginning in Bangkok. As Chief Engineer of B.Grimm Engineering, responsible for all aspects of mechanical engineering of a local major HVAC equipment distributor and contractor, he had gained a numerous experience not only on design expertise but also on field experience on many large projects in Thailand. Realizing the future demand of M & E Design firm, in 1973 he and his partner established W. and Associates and has carried out M&E design for a large number of high-rise and large building complex including factories and large infrastructure projects.

Chulalongkorn University had invited him from 1971 - 1976 as Guest Lecturer for Course E405a Air Conditioning System, and Course 361632 Environmental Control, for the Faculty of Architecture.

He is licensed in Thailand as Senior Professional Engineer, (วุฒิวิศวกร), Mechanical Engineering, and also a Senior Member of Engineering Institute of Thailand (E.I.T.) as well as a member of American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) U.S.A.  Moreover, in 2000, he became the first President of ASHRAE Thailand Chapter.

From 2002-2004, he is serving as the President of Air-Conditioning Engineering Association of Thailand. (ACAT)

He served the EIT. as a Member of Technical Committee, Mechanical Engineering Branch from 1974 - 1976 and also as Chairman of the Sub-Committee for drafting of Air Conditioning System installation standard.  Since 1995 until present, he has been

serving as a Committee member for drafting and revision of new E.I.T. Mechanical System Standard for building.

At present time Mr.Wichai Laksanakorn, P.E., Fellow ASHRAE, Life Member, was promoted as Director-at-Large American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, 2010-2013.

As director and regional chair, he serves on ASHRAE’s Board of Directors and as chair of the Society’s Region XIII, representing the Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand chapters. As chair, he oversees the activities of the chapters in this region and represents them in Society activities. He will serve a three-year term from 2010-2013.
